Dan Marino Sr. Resource Library

As a memoriam to Dan Marino, Sr., the Dan Marino Foundation recently endowed a family resource library at the Miami Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Center in Weston, Florida. "Senior" as he was known to his family and friends passed away on December 7, 2008. Throughout the years, he coached thousands of kids, sharing his time and wisdom, inspiring them to always do their best. He had the rare talent of making everyone feel like a friend and of making them laugh with his one-liners.

The library is the first stop a parent makes for guidance and support after hearing their child’s diagnosis from the professionals at the Center.  Parents meet with the Foundation’s Community Resource Specialist and have access to a social worker from Miami Children’s Hospital.  The library serves as an ongoing resource and includes state-of-the-art technology and media delivery to give families the tools, support, and resources needed to parent a child with special needs.  Due to the national and international exposure the Center has achieved, the staff of the library receives inquiries and assists families from around the world.

With the establishment of the Dan Marino Sr. Resource Library, we hope to continue his legacy by providing families with a place to gather and learn by sharing with each other.
